Western Campaign Facts

  • The Western campaign aims to strengthen London and area through donations and volunteerism in and with the United Way Elgin Middlesex.
  • Western’s 2023 United Way campaign raised $614,016 for our community. Western’s contribution continues to be the largest United Way employee/retiree giving campaign in Elgin Middlesex and the second-largest university campaign in Canada.
  • Thank you to the Western University community for giving opportunity and hope to more than 110,000 local people who use the over 50 United Way funded services and programs in our community..

United Way Elgin Middlesex stands for a community where everyone matters:

As the largest non-government funder of social services in the region. United Way is a laser-focused on partnerships that reduce and prevent poverty, provide food and basic needs, and reduce homelessness locally.

United Way Elgin Middlesex does this by: 

  • Investing $6 million in our community this year, including $4.66 million in 52 local services and programs offered by 40 United Way-funded agencies and as a partner in the 2-1-1 information portal
  • Connecting people with each other and with available community resources
  • Advocating, as non-partisan community champions, to help shape public policy and make this a community where everyone matters
